It’s been a while since any of my updates have made it public, so here are a few images and thoughts from the 71st day of our journey.
We left Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church Monday morning. This church gave us record-breaking donations for clean water and demonstrated incredible service through hospitality. I’m also going to miss hanging out with Pastor Rod – his stories, his message, and his heart highly impacted our team. It’s awesome to come across a pastor of an amazing church who has such a vision for God’s global work. Rod rode with us through town back to ol’ Highway 2.
Jillian’s knee has been healing and she was able to ride 3 out of 4 legs with us Monday.
This part of North Dakota kind of reminds me of East Texas. It’s wet. That mostly has to do with the excessive rainfall they got earlier this year which caused all sorts of problems for people here.
Today we hit 50% of our mileage.
Our glass is half-full! And if you were wondering what “half-way around the country from Austin TX” looks like, here it is:
Today we also got halfway across the country! To “North America’s belly button” as Jillian called it:
And for the last leg we all rode into Leeds together.
Leeds is awesome! Great friendly people, good dinner, and a cozy home to sleep in.
120 mile day tomorrow, (tied with the other 120 mile day for) our longest ride. Now that we’re further from home than we’ve ever been, please pray that God leads us through the second half of our trip and grows us deeper & deeper into His purposes.
